What does it take to become a Ski Instructor?

Over the years we have helped thousands of people become talented paid ski and snowboard instructors at ski destinations around the globe. This includes Australia, Austria, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and many more. From the beginning one of the main questions we get asked over and over again is: What does it take to become a ski instructor? What exactly are the requirements? To clarify this, we have explained in 3 simple steps how to become a Snowminds instructor with a job guarantee for a full season. Check out the requirements below!

– Team Snowminds

Global Destinations with Snowminds

Regardless of your ski level, the most important first step is to be MOTIVATED AND GIVE YOUR BEST EFFORT. It’s often said that “80 of success is just showing up” and giving it your best. Over time we have learned that nothing is more important than a strong motivation to challenge yourself and improve your skills as both a skier or snowboarder and a teacher. If you got the motivation, that’s half of the equation right there!

STEP 2 – Picking the right course

We offer over a wide variety of different training courses around the world so EVERYONE with the right motivation has the opportunity to become a ski instructor or snowboard instructor for a full season with a job guarantee. We offer you the possibility to work all year-around at global destinations, including Australia, Austria, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa.

Generally, to work as a ski instructor you must be 18 years old and have decent skiing or snowboard skills, and enjoy teaching and working with children. If you’re at all unsure about your abilities, we can help with that. Everyone can improve no matter their current level and our courses are designed to begin with the foundations of skiing and refine your technique from the ground up. Since 2012, we are proud to say that 100% of our instructors who successfully passed their training course became successfully certified ski instructors or snowboard instructors.

This is the most important step. Regardless of your situation, it never hurts to get in touch and learn more! Give us a call, send a message or simply start an application. It’s free and only takes a few minutes to get the process started. After you submit a short application, one of our team members will give you a personal call so you get the chance to learn more about how the entire process works and get all your questions answered.
