With over 400km, the 4 Valleys is the biggest ski area in Switzerland with varied terrain across all resorts. It links the resorts of Verbier, Nendaz, Thyon, Veysonnaz, Bruson and La Tzoumaz, six resorts that blend in perfectly together, with the use of one ski pass. When you do a ski instructor season in Verbier all of the resorts are easily accessible via lift systems, making the 4 Valleys an even more attractive place for our Snowminders.
Verbier is the heart of the ski area, and the most well-known Swiss resort as a firm favorite amongst the royals and the rich and famous. It is also Switzerland’s liveliest resort with a reputation for its animated après ski and nightlife and renowned for its fantastic range of pistes as well as off-piste skiing. What’s more, is its picturesque mountain scenery with views of Mont Blanc and Combins Massif.
Snowminds cooperates with different local ski schools and depending on your skill and language set, your training provider picks a suitable ski school for you. It could also be possible that you work for several ski schools depending on their business level. Depending on your skills, you’ll get delegated to a ski school with more private education or a school with mainly bigger children, adult groups, or camps.
From past years’ experience, Snowminds instructors with high professionalism worked already with a level 1 certification and some even without certification in the beginning. During the busy holiday period it can get a bit stressful, so be prepared for an active working environment!
Our former Snowminders all stated, you must go down the Piste de L’Ours which hosted a number of downhill World Cup championships, and if you want to find the perfect spot for a photo then head up to the Mont Fort glacier. Depending on the conditions, it’s either buried under a layer of powdery snow or covered in well-shaped bumps. Those in a more pensive mood can simply enjoy the panorama, or, accompanied by a mountain guide, can tackle one of the Backside Mont-Fort routes on skis.
