Become a ski instructor in Zermatt

One of the world's premier and magical travel destinations!

The Mountains

Zermatt in Switzerland is one of the world’s premier and magical travel destinations in winter as well as in summer and was once again crowned best ski resort in the Alps in 2020 after two overall wins in 2014 and 2016. The ski region of Zermatt is divided into the transnational linked ski domains of Rothorn, Gornergrat, Matterhorn glacier paradise and Cervinia at the Italian side. With only electric-powered public-service vehicles permitted in the village, the fresh mountain air is unsullied and the village retains much of its traditional charm and its human scale. So start your adventure now and become a ski instructor in Zermatt!

The Ski School

In Zermatt you can often expect a high demanding clientele which leads to higher expectations from your ski school. The amount of work and your payment therefore highly depends on your motivation, appearance and attitude and how you interact with your guests. German or French language skills are highly valued to secure more working hours during the peak weeks. After achieving your level 2 certification and when the high season kicks in, you can expect child group lessons or even private lessons with a very good starting salary depending on your skills.

THE INSTRUCTOR LIFE

If you ask former Snowminders what’s unique about Zermatt…? Of course, the world’s most iconic peak, the Matterhorn, the instantly recognisable global trademark for Switzerland. Despite being a magnet for advanced snowsports enthusiasts, the resort contains over 100 restaurants and bars, as well as a very good range of non-ski sports & ‘wellness’ facilities. According to our Snowminders, the prime apres-ski joints include the Hennustall and the Papperla Pub!
