The Pyrenees offer wide-open pistes, stunning alpine views, and a lively atmosphere that blends the best of French and Spanish culture. As an experienced ski instructor in Andorra, you’ll enjoy incredible skiing conditions, plenty of sunshine, and a welcoming environment that quickly feels like home.
The ski schools are professional and well-organized, with great opportunities for instructors who want to develop their skills and work in an international team. Off the slopes, you can explore cozy mountain villages, enjoy tapas and après-ski, or relax in the famous thermal spas. Whether it’s skiing with your colleagues, sharing dinner in the instructors’ accommodation, or a night out in town, the sense of community is always strong.
The winter season typically runs from December to April, giving you time to fully enjoy life in the mountains. When the lifts close, many instructors choose to travel around Spain or France – or join Snowminds on another adventure somewhere new. One thing is certain: your winter in Andorra will leave you with lifelong friends, new experiences, and memories you’ll never forget.

As your prospective employer, the ski school, not Snowminds, independently sets your work schedule, compensation, and other employment conditions. Consequently, your employment relationship is direct with the ski school, and we can’t guarantee specific conditions such as a minimum number of work hours. However, should you have any queries or concerns, we are always available to provide assistance.
Work hours
Workloads vary by resort, but instructors generally have more free time on weekdays. In Andorra, pay is usually hourly, with weekends and peak holiday periods like Christmas, New Year, and February being the busiest, while there though being usually a good amount of work during the whole season.
To maximize your hours, show motivation and take on as many lessons as possible during peak times. In quieter periods, use the time to join advanced training with your ski school or explore nearby resorts with friends.
Many ski schools in Andorra do not include accommodation in the work contracts as they often work with a lot of local staff. Therefore, we work together with the ski schools to arrange good and fitting housing for you. You’ll be in shared accommodation with (mostly) other Snowminds Instructors in a fantastic community.
The rent won’t be deducted from your salary but paid separately. Since housing is secured for the full season a signed housing contract and full payment will be required before departure. Rent varies, but typically lies between 800-1000 euro a month.
A deposit should be paid to cover potential damages, missing items, cleaning, washing of bed linens, towels, and/or anything else that the landlord will have claims to after the lease. The remaining amount will be transferred back to you electronically after the season by Snowminds.
To stay and work in Andorra for the winter season, you need a seasonal work permit. This applies to all nationalities – including EU, EFTA, and British citizens. While Andorra is not part of the EU, it has agreements in place that make it possible for foreigners to live and work in the country during the ski season.
Once you’ve secured a job with a ski school, your employer will assist you with the work permit process. The permit type may vary depending on your nationality and contract, but you’ll be guided through the steps to make sure everything is handled properly.
You will be provided with an official work contract, either before arrival or upon reaching your destination. Be sure to read it carefully and ask any questions.
Wages vary, but as a Level 2 instructor, you can expect to earn around €20-25 per hour, with additional income from tips and private lessons.
