Take your ski career to the next level with over 150 hours of training for your Level 3 or 4 in Verbier. As the long-time host of the Freeride World Tour finals, Verbier has earned its reputation as one of the most exciting ski destinations in the world.
Through our season-long program, you’ll work and train in the heart of the iconic 4 Vallées, one of Switzerland’s largest and most diverse ski areas. Over the course of the season, you’ll receive comprehensive Level 3/4 training across 25 dedicated days, on and off-piste. Training sessions are led by experienced trainers and take place in small groups of no more than six participants, ensuring focused feedback and real progress. This is your chance to reach the next level, build a global network of friends, and make unforgettable memories. Whether you’re aiming to pass your Level 3 or already looking toward your Level 4, this program is designed to elevate your skills and open doors for the future.
Join us in Verbier for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, where you’ll grow as a skier, work with fellow enthusiasts, and embrace the ultimate mountain lifestyle.
Our Level 3/4 ski instructor course in Verbier is built around 150 hours of expert training, combining 20 days on-piste with 5 intensive days off-piste to sharpen your skills across all terrain. Training is delivered in small groups of no more than six, giving you the focused feedback and personal attention needed to make real progress. The training sessions are led by expert coaches, read more about them in the section below. We structure training during quieter weeks to make the most of less-crowded slopes. During high season, you’ll have the opportunity to work at a local ski school in Verbier. The working hour expectations vary depending on snow conditions, resort demand, your personal performance and the ski school. Most ski schools would offer you 100+ hours throughout the season. This format therefore combines expert level training with valuable hands-on experience teaching in Verbier. Because training happens mainly in the low season, you’ll be well-positioned for job opportunities during Christmas, New Year’s, February half-term, and Easter. Basic language skills in French, German, or Dutch will boost your chances of securing more work during these peak times. If you would like an additional job for the season, we recommend looking for a second job before the season starts, as opportunities can be more limited once you’re already in resort. Switzerland’s reputation for quality skiing also means better pay. Level 2 certified instructors can typically earn between 25–30 CHF per hour, with additional bonus systems, which is significantly more than in many other countries. The training program

Many ski schools in Switzerland do not include accommodation in the work contracts as they often work with a lot of local staff. Therefore, we work together with the ski schools to arrange good and fitting housing for you. If you are interested in the optional accommodation package, you’ll be in shared accommodation with (mostly) other Snowminds Instructors in a fantastic community.
Housing contract
The rent won’t be deducted from your salary but paid separately. Since housing is secured for the full season a signed housing contract and full payment will be required before departure. Rent varies, but typically lies between 800-1200 Swiss francs a month.
Housing Deposit
A deposit should be paid to cover potential damages, missing items, cleaning, washing of bed linens, towels, and/or anything else that the landlord will have claims to after the lease. The remaining amount will be transferred back to you electronically after the season by Snowminds.
Contact us for more details regarding our arranged accommodation.
Working permit
To stay and work in Switzerland for the winter season you need to be an EU or EFTA citizen. (EFTA which consists of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland). Although Switzerland is not a member of the EU, it is part of the EFTA and thus grants freedom of movement to those from EU/EFTA countries.
Nevertheless you have to get a work permit while in Switzerland, before you start working at a ski school. Your ski school and your team leader will help you and advise you on the most suitable permit, which varies depending on the amount of work per month.
Your ski school will help you with paying the relevant fees to the registration office.
Mandatory Swiss Health insurance / Tourist tax
Most work permits in Switzerland require you to also pay for mandatory Swiss health insurance which must be paid in addition to the registration fee to be eligible to work.
If you are not on a work permit, and not working, then Switzerland requires you to pay a daily tourist tax instead. This is typically around 2.50-4.50 CHF a day, depending on your accommodation set up.
If you are interested in reading more about work in Switzerland as a foreigner, we refer to the official Swiss government website.
Level 2 instructors typically earn 25–30 CHF per hour, with possible bonuses (e.g. +4 CHF/hour for private requests or rebookings). Most ski schools offer 100+ hours of work, mainly during peak weeks like Christmas, New Year, and February half-term.
Actual hours depend on your performance, qualifications, and language skills. Instructors with strong teaching ability and French or German skills can secure even more hours during the season.
