After the season, typically running from mid-June to late September, you can travel around New Zealand or head to Australia with your new friends. Training officially ends in late August, giving you the freedom to decide whether to stay or continue your journey elsewhere.

Designed for experienced instructors seeking to elevate their skills against the backdrop of Queenstown’s stunning landscape, this program offers a comprehensive approach to professional development.
Your season kicks off around the 20th of June* with hands-on experience at the local ski school, providing valuable work experience and steady hours for your instructing career. Engage with an international clientele during peak season weeks, fostering personal and professional growth through unique interactions with individuals from around the world.
The training component begins end of July*, with sessions scheduled three days a week for four weeks. Guided by top-certified trainers, the 12-day training program spans from late July – late August, featuring morning and afternoon sessions on weekdays, 3 days a week, and post-skiing activities such as fitness sessions and game nights. Weekends offer a well-deserved break for free-skiing or relaxation.
The program strategically schedules training during off-peak weeks to maximize learning opportunities in a focused environment. This curated experience promises not only skill enhancement but also a holistic summer season where participants can savor the thrill of skiing, gain valuable work insights, and enjoy the best that the resort and program have to offer.
For those seeking an extra challenge, an opportunity awaits to undertake the Level 3 exam in mid-September, pushing your capabilities to achieve a higher level of certification. If you choose to undertake the Level 3 exam, please note that you will also need to attend 2 workshops of 3 days each (skiing and teaching) before you do the 4 day exam*. Other than that, to receive your full level 3 you also need to complete two of the following; Childrens Level One, Freeski Level One, Race One, a second discipline level one qualification (i.e., snowboard/telemark/adaptive/cross country), or foreign equivalent. Please note, only one second discipline is counted toward the qualification.

We’ve created a holistic experience, where you will work and train towards your level 3 ski instructor certificate in New Zealand and work as an instructor at Coronet Peaks and The Remarkables. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to experience other parts of New Zealand – such as its beautiful scenery and unique laid-back culture. Once your season has ended, you have the opportunity to travel on your own, with fellow instructors, or with others you’ve met during your time in New Zealand. It is also possible to plan hiking tours, skydiving and much more. In Queenstown, the World’s Adventure Capital, the possibilities are endless!

What we expect from you:
When you have sent your application you will receive an invitation for an interview. During the interview we will evaluate your candidacy while you have the opportunity to get more information about our courses and your experience as a ski instructor in New Zealand. After the interview, we will let you know whether or not we can offer you a spot on our team.
We have a big interest in our courses and the spots fill up quickly. Therefore we have a “first come, first serve” principle with an application deadline each month. This means that the earlier you send in your application, the greater your chances are of joining the team and getting to your dream destination.
