The course is held in November and focuses on enhancing your intermediate to advanced skiing abilities. Our top coaches will work with you to refine your skills on various terrains such as piste, bumps, steeps and freestyle. This program is specifically designed to build upon the technical skills you developed during your Level 1 course.

Following the preparation days, the BASI Level 2 program kicks off and runs for 9 days, culminating in the final exams. Afterward, we’ll celebrate your success with a closing party before you embark on your next adventure. With your BASI Level 2 certification, you’ll be qualified to teach a broader range of students and guide guests in off-piste terrain. This achievement paves the way for exciting job opportunities as an advanced ski instructor at top destinations around the globe. TRAVEL ITINERARY

Take a break from studying or working and join our professional training to improve your skiing and take it to the next level in Kaprun, one of the best and most varied terrains in the Austrian Alps.

Below is an example of how the course can look like:

Ski Level 2 BASI:

  • 02.11. – 08.11. : Training, fitness program, Teaching practice sessions, mountain safety
  • 09.11. – 10.11. : Days Off
  • 11.11. – 19.11 : Level 2 BASI Exam Ski

Who can apply?

At Snowminds we pride ourselves in selecting the right people for our team of ski- and snowboard instructors. We are renowned amongst the ski schools for educating competent, energetic and top motivated instructors.  The most important thing for you is to be positive, outgoing, adventurous, and ready to work hard to get the memory of a lifetime as a part of the Snowminds team.

What we expect from you:

  • You are a certified BASI level 1 ski instructor
  • Membership of BASI – if you are not already a member you can apply to become one
  • 35 hours Snowsports School Experience (these hours are additional to the 35 hours completed as part of the Level 1 Qualification)
  • You are positive, outgoing, and adventurous
  • You are serious, responsible, and top motivated
  • You enjoy teaching and love being challenged
  • You speak English at a conversational level
  • You are 18 years or above
  • Eligible to enter and stay in Austria for duration of course

 

We have a big interest in our courses and the spots fill up quickly. Therefore we have a “first come, first serve” principle with an application deadline each month. This means that the earlier you book your place, the greater your chances are of joining the team and joining us in the snow!

Key Details about the Course

Housing

Training Course Housing

You will live in a hotel with Wifi and all the basic necessities. You can expect to live with 2-5 people per room or apartment. While this may not sound fancy, that’s “mountain luxury” for you.

At Snowminds, “we take care of our own”. That’s why we specifically only work with hotels that make healthy and nutritious food. Breakfast typically consists of a large, nutritious buffet. Dinner will either be a 3-course meal or a buffet with soup, salad, main course and dessert.

Lift pass

If you do not have your own lift pass, you can purchase a 2 week lift pass which will be delivered on arrival.
