Sankt Michael is located in the Lungau ski region, which lies in the southern Salzburger Land. With a lift pass for the region, you have access to around 150km of slopes, which are distributed in Katschberg-Aineck, Fanningberg and Goßeck-Speiereck areas, which have long and varied slopes. From Sankt Michael there is a direct connection by 8-seater gondola to the Großeck-Speiereck area, which offers 50km of varied pistes and 10 lifts. The difference in altitude between Speiereck and Sankt Michael is a whooping 1300m, allowing you to enjoy the 4.5km descent! In addition, the KAtschberg-Aineck, which is a small snowpark, with various obstacles such as rails, boxes, a corner and even a (small) halfpipe.
The traditional village is called “The gateway to Skiarena Lungau” as it is a great place for various activities – Not only skiing! The destination is perfect for skiers with different requirements, but also for those who would like to try other activities as well, such as snowshoeing, tobogganing, or ice skating. In the surrounding towns, you also have the opportunity to nurture your cultural self with visits to museums, castles and palaces, monuments, churches, and much more! If you love night skiing, there’s good news for you! In Lungau, there are two places with illuminated slopes: Katschberg-Aineck and Großeck-Speiereck. Afterward you can visit some of the cozy bars in the area.
