Become an instructor in Silver Star

Infinity Skiing & BeaverTails = The Ultimate Combo

The Destination

A scenic five hour drive from Vancouver, you will find Silver Star Mountain Resort, a ski area built around an old silver mining operation. Today, the town is known less for mining and more for hunting powder. With 131 slopes, 7 meters of annual snowfall and unmatched off-piste opportunities, Silver Star is a truly a gem in Canada.

It was surprise when the popular ski resort review site, Powder Hounds, recently called Silver Star the best ski area for families in Canada. Many other awards for best family resort follow each year. The champagne powder and varied terrain offer great options for every kind of skier to BC’s third largest ski area, with over 3,269 skiable acres. The mid-mountain village also offers true ski-in, ski-out access to the slopes, with over 18 bar and restaurants.

The Ski School

When you go to Silver Star, you’ll find the city is built around traditions and unity. The ski school makes a genuine effort to treat you like family and welcome you into their tight-knit community. And you can expect to participate in several organized activities, from local hockey games to dance nights.

The Instructor Life

In Silver Star, the big dream is to take a helicopter and drop into the open untouched landscape, which includes 117,000 hectares of ski-runs to choose from. Alternatively, you can go on the Snowmobile Tour, with or without skis, if you want to experience the countryside on land. But, of course, Canada is also about the small things. That’s why we recommend a beer and BeaverTail, which is a edible miracle that occurs when an apple pie, crepé, waffle and pastry spent one crazy night together. While he number of bars and restaurants is limited, the city center is ski-in / ski-out. So you’ll manage.
