The Destination

History matters, and Austria is where it all began. We’re talking about skiing, of course. For this reason, Snowminds offers a wide variety of training courses to help you become an instructor in Austria. The country holds many claims to fame, including being home to the world’s first ski school and countless world champs. Austria also hosts the liveliest after ski culture of anywhere on earth. But when you are truly the best, you let others do the bragging for you. And they do. Austria is universally beloved.

The Mountains

Alpine peaks, well-groomed slopes and traditional charm are ever-present in Austria. These are some of the many reasons we love to offer Snowminds ski and snowboard instructor courses there. As the home to the most ski areas on earth, the country offers something for everyone. There are more than enough options to choose from to fulfill your priorities in terms of area size, after ski culture and terrain. In Austria, like everywhere else, the excitement builds every year for what the snow gods have in store. However, Austria offers a big advantage: Nearly all destinations have modern snow cannons to ensure a long and more consistent season. It’s a safe bet for your gap year as a ski or snowboard instructor.

“While waiting for my boss to pick me up in Kaprun after my Snowminds course, I knew this would be one of the coolest experiences in my life. I wasn’t wrong!"

- Martin, Snowminds Instructor
