With 110 kms of slopes at skiing up to 3,000 meters high, Obergurgl shines like a diamond. Two days in Obergurgl are never the same. That’s because the diverse terrain options suitable for skiers and snowboarders across all ages and levels. There is also an even distribution of blue, red and black slopes across the Obergurgl and Hochgurgl mountains. Beginners will benefit from the blue slopes that wander from the top of both mountains down to the cities, while experts can enjoy Obergurgl’s many marked off-piste slopes.

 

 

The Instructor Life

Beyond the slopes, Obergurgl also offers ice skating, horse-drawn carriage and hiking with or without snowshoes. The ski slopes can also take a guided tour of the off-piste or cross-country skiing. As the second oldest ski area in Austria, the town is an example of traditional Tyrolean charm. The city is located in the high-rise Ötztal, with 3,000m high views of the Italian Dolomites. The local residents have actively ensured that Obergurgl has not grown in size but only in quality. Therefore, the city is characterized by beautiful buildings and exceptional restaurants. Behind the quiet facade of Obergurgl also lies a wilder side with more than twenty bars, discos and mountain huts to dance the night away.
